Bengaluru: While people across the country are finding ways to get respite from the scorching heat, one keeps hearing of desperate measures a few are taking to beat the heat. The priests of a temple in Karnataka went a step ahead and performed pooja to pray to the rain god earlier this week.
The pandits of Someshwara temple in Bengaluru organised a special pooja to please the rain god so that he would show mercy in the form of monsoon. Praying to the rain gods is not news in India, however, this particular pooja had something bizarre.
The photos of the pooja show three priests. While one of them is conducting a hawan, the other two can be seen sitting in huge utensils filled with water. Another photo from the pooja, which captures the latter priests shows them using mobile phones while they sat immersed in the water a little above their waists.
